Welcome to the new unit called HOW THE ECONOMY WORKS.

INTRODUCTION. 1st session. Monday 13/12

1. Before start this new unit, let's see the mark of the last evaluation and resolve your questions.

2. Now, it's time to start the unit. First of all, we want to see what do you know about this unit. So, you must go to the FORUM and answer the question that we have suggest for you. Remember, there is not wrong answer!

PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SECTOR. 2nd session. Wednesday 15/12

1. Guys, here is an activity to see if you have understood the first two economic sectors.

You have to classify the following professions in your notebook: agriculture, fishing, construction, livestock, crafts, industry, hunting and mining.

2. Finally, I have a challenge for the next day. You can leave your answer in the FORUM and we will discuss them in class. The question is:

"Why does education belong to the tertiary sector?"

TERTIARY SECTOR. 3rd session. Friday 17/12

ADVERTISING AND REVIEW. 4th session. Monday 20/12

Have you understood how important advertising is in a business? 

1. Now, you know that there are different ways to create advertising. Write 3 types of advertising and put an example.

2. Imagine that you are going to sell a chair. Create in big group the advertising.

3. Finally, it's time to make a review of the unit before the final evaluation. 

EVALUATION. 5th session. Wednesday 22/12

Hi guys, today we are very excited because we have to tell you something. It is a new project for you! You have learned a lot about the economy of the world so, you are ready to create your own business.

You must form 6 groups of 4 people approx. Each group will be assigned an economic sector (primary, secondary or tertiary sector). It is your task to create a business in this sector. Are your ready for it?

After deciding on the sectors you should choose the business you are going to create. We will leave you here a guide to follow with all the concepts that you have to decided about your business. Of course, everything you look up, write down and add to it will add up extra points.

GUIDE:

1. Name of the business

2. How it works?

3. What does it offer?

4. Which economic sector does it belong to? Why?

5. Create advertising to promote it.

To show it to your classmates and as a final project, you should capture the information on a cardboard, a powerpoint, a video, a role playing, or whatever your imagination and creativity want to innovate. GOOD LUCK!

**The presentation of the business will take place on Wednesday 12/01.
