I am here again because we
are going to go on studying the history of Spain, in this case, from Kindom to empire.

Please, help me to stretch my dock to the maximum to travel!

1st session. Wednesday 06/10
INTRODUCTION & WHEN DID SPAIN BECOME SPAIN?

1.    Brain storm. What names of different kings and queens in Spain do you remember? 

Let's write them on the board!


2.    Together, we will look for information on the Internet in order to guess who are the kings and queens who appears in the family tree in the book whose names don’t appear.

 

3.    Draw the family tree and write all the names in your notebook.

 


2nd session. Friday 08/10
2. WHEN DID SPAIN BECOME SPAIN?

2.    Write 10 lines more and less about what happened when Isabel and Fernando conquered Granada and it was the end of the Reconquista.You can use the information of your book (page 20).
Then, you have to look for information on the Internet and write one more thing that doesn’t appear in your book at least.

3. WHERE DID COLUMBUS ORIGINALLY INTEND TO GO?

- What was the route?

- Did Isabel and Fernando agree with Columbus’ expedition?

- Where did he ship from?

- Did the think he was in India or in America at first?

- What unknown products and animals did he bring back to Europe?


2.    Complete and amplify the time line we did in Unit 1.

4th session. Friday 15/10

4. WHERE DID COLUMBUS ORIGINALLY INTEND TO GO? & REVIEW OF COLUMBUS AND TODAY  

1.    FORUMIn pairs, look for information on the Internet about one of them:

·         Hernán Cortés

·         Francisco Pizarro

·         Magallanes

·         Elcano

You can also use the information of your book page 23 as a guide, but you have to amplify that information.

a) Write 5 lines per each one as minimum and add photos.

b) When you have the information, the class will be divided into 4 groups (each group corresponds to one only mentioned man) and you will have to compare the information that you have found.

c) Then, each group will have to explain to the rest of the class what they have learned.
